We hope that the things you learned today will help you as you begin Stage 3 of your treatment. The goal of this phase is to block the hepatitis C virus from multiplying, and clear it from your blood entirely.

By keeping up with your combination therapy, and taking care of yourself, you are increasing your chances for success. Asking a friend or family member to help you remember your medications can also be very helpful.

There are a few other things to remember as you continue with your treatment. First, that alcohol and hepatitis C don't mix. Second, that people on combination therapy should use 2 forms of birth control during the study, and for 6 months afterwards. Third, keep the medications out of the reach of children. These medicines can be dangerous to children.

Take a few minutes today to talk with your healthcare providers about how your treatment is going. Also be sure to reward yourself tonight for the effort you've given so far. You deserve it.
