Hepatitis C? Hepatitas C is a common misspelling of hepatitis C.
Hepatitis C is an infectious, viral illness that causes inflammation of the liver. It is transmitted through infected blood (from sharing needles for tattoos, body piercings, or drugs) and, rarely, through sexual intercourse. In acute hepatitis C, the body is able to completely kill the hepatitis C virus; however, the chronic form of the condition can lead to more and more liver damage over time. Two different medications are available to treat the disease.
