INCIVEK Drug Information

INCIVEKTM (telaprevir) is a medication licensed for the treatment of chronic hepatitis C infections. It comes in tablet form and is taken 3 times a day for 12 weeks. It is approved for use only in adults and must be used in combination with certain other hepatitis C drugs.

Although most people tolerate this medicine well, INCIVEK is not suitable for everyone. Possible side effects may include fatigue, nausea, and vomiting. Make sure to take INCIVEK as prescribed; missing doses can increase the chance of the virus becoming resistant to the medication.

Before using INCIVEK, make sure your healthcare provider has up-to-date information on any other drugs you are taking (including vitamins and supplements), as well as any allergies you may have, including to medications, foods, dyes, or preservatives. Also, let your healthcare provider know if you have certain medical issues, such as blood cell problems, a weakened immune system, or an upcoming surgery.
