Combining INCIVEK with arrhythmia medications, certain antibiotics, and various other drugs may cause negative reactions. Some of these drug interactions with INCIVEK can increase the risk for side effects or decrease the effectiveness of the medications. Before using INCIVEK, make sure your healthcare provider is aware of any medicine, vitamin, or supplement you are taking.

An Overview of Interactions With INCIVEK

INCIVEK® (telaprevir) may react with a number of other medications. Some of the drugs that can lead to interactions with this product include but are not limited to:
  • Arrhythmia medications, such as:

  • Certain antifungal medications, such as:
    • Itraconazole (Sporanox®)
    • Ketoconazole (Nizoral®)
    • Posaconazole (Noxafil®)
    • Voriconazole (VFEND®)
  • Certain anti-seizure medications, such as:
  • Certain benzodiazepines and sedatives, such as:
  • Certain immunosuppressants, such as:



    • Betamethasone (Celestone®)
    • Cortisone
    • Dexamethasone (Decadron®)
    • Fludrocortisone (Florinef®)
    • Hydrocortisone (Cortef®)
    • Methylprednisolone (Depo-Medrol®, Medrol®)
    • Prednisolone (Orapred®, Pediapred®)
    • Prednisone
    • Triamcinolone (Kenalog®, Aristospan®)
  • CYP 3A4 inducer medications, such as:
  • CYP 3A4 inhibitor medications, such as:
  • Desipramine (Norpramin®)
  • Digoxin (Lanoxin®)
  • Ergot medications, such as:
    • Dihydroergotamine (Migranal®)
    • Ergonovine
    • Ergotamine (Cafergot®, Ergomar®)
    • Methylergonovine (Methergine®)
    • Delavirdine (Rescriptor®)
    • Efavirenz (Sustiva®)
    • Nevirapine (Viramune®)
    • Tenofovir (Viread®)
  • P-glycoprotein inhibitors, such as:
  • Phosphodiesterase type-5 (PDE5) inhibitors, such as:



    • Atazanavir (Reyataz®)
    • Darunavir (Prezista®)
    • Fosamprenavir (Lexiva®)
    • Lopinavir and ritonavir (Kaletra®)
