Rebetol
Rebetol is an antiviral drug. This means that it works by helping to control and get rid of any viruses in your body, including Hepatitis C. Rebetol is a pill that you take in the morning and in the evening for as long as you are on the therapy. Rebetol does not treat hepatitis C by itself, it must be used with an alpha-interferon like Peg-Intron. Together, these medications can help fight the hepatitis C virus.
The medications make it very hard for the virus to copy itself and spread. This means there is less of the virus in your body to fight against. The medicine also helps make your immune system stronger so it can fight and kill the virus.
