You are beginning treatment with ribavirin pills, and peginterferon -- which must be injected once a week.
Be sure to store your peginterferon in the refrigerator, and out of the reach of children. Also make sure that your ribavirin pills are kept in a place where children can't find them and take them.
It's important to give your injection exactly the way your healthcare provider shows you. This will ensure that you get the right amount of peginterferon. If you forget to take an injection, be sure to call your healthcare provider right away for further instructions.
By following your treatment plan, and taking your medicine as directed, you will be more likely to have a successful treatment. If you have any questions about your medications, or how you should take them, be sure to talk with your healthcare provider. Even if your question seems simple, remember, any question you have is an important one.
