PegIntron Warnings and Precautions

Who Should Not Use PegIntron?

You should not use PegIntron if you:
  • Are allergic to it, Sylatron®, peginterferon alfa-2b, or any of the inactive components used to make the medicine. Your healthcare provider or pharmacist has a list of the inactive ingredients.
  • Are allergic to interferon alfa-2b (Intron®).
  • Have severe liver disease.
Keep in mind that PegIntron is usually taken with ribavirin, and there may be reasons you should not take ribavirin.
