There is only one standard recommended dose of Sovaldi. However, the length of treatment will depend on a variety of factors, including:
- Which genotype of hepatitis C virus you have
- Which other hepatitis C medications you are taking
- Whether you are awaiting a liver transplant.
As is always the case, do not adjust your dosage unless your healthcare provider specifically tells you to do so.

Just like any medicine, Sovaldi can cause side effects. However, not everyone who uses the drug will experience problems. Most people tolerate it quite well.
If reactions do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or are treated easily by you or your healthcare provider. Serious side effects are less common.
